CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Luova Art Fest will be held Oct. 10–12 at Crib Coffee House on North Third Street in Marquette—local bands and visual artists will fill the venue with live music and art as entry is by donation. The Mining Journal
- ➤ Shepherd David Berryhill competed at the North American Hill Sheep Show at the U.P. State Fairgrounds in Escanaba where British judges scored his Wensleydale sheep — his animal won its category with ribbons and a trophy. He said his strong debut means he will return next year to build on this success. Upper Michigan's Source

- ➤ On Tuesday, Oct. 7, the Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will host a hand sculpting event at Hot Plate in Marquette from 2 to 5 p.m.—artist Melissa will lead 15 participants while members pay $5, non-members pay $10, and a $20 materials fee is charged after class. The Mining Journal
