- ➤ Marquette Downtown Development Authority previewed the upcoming farmers market season at an event (with 16 vendor tables) today, and the Saturday market begins on May 3 while the Wednesday street market starts on June 10. Upper Michigan's Source
- ➤ Community volunteers gathered today to clean up neighborhoods, parks, and trails during the annual Earth Day Clean Up event organized by Marquette Food Co-op Board. Some participants collected multiple bags + helped create a cleaner, healthier community. Upper Michigan's Source

- ➤ Four local independent bookstores joined together Saturday to celebrate National Independent Bookstore Day downtown. The event offered book swag raffles and free goodies — a nod to their strong community spirit. Upper Michigan's Source

- ➤ The Michigamme River near Republic is forecast to rise to 12.5 feet on Tuesday (up from 11 feet on Saturday) after local officials declared a state of emergency due to flooding. River Road remains closed in parts. Upper Michigan's Source
