Marquette Downtown Development Authority previewed the upcoming farmers market season at an event (with 16 vendor tables) today, and the Saturday market begins on May 3 while the Wednesday street market starts on June 10.
Community volunteers gathered today to clean up neighborhoods, parks, and trails during the annual Earth Day Clean Up event organized by Marquette Food Co-op Board.
Some participants collected multiple bags + helped create a cleaner, healthier community.
🎭 Culture
Four local independent bookstores joined together Saturday to celebrate National Independent Bookstore Day downtown.
The event offered book swag raffles and free goodies — a nod to their strong community spirit.
🏛️ Government
The Michigamme River near Republic is forecast to rise to 12.5 feet on Tuesday (up from 11 feet on Saturday) after local officials declared a state of emergency due to flooding.
River Road remains closed in parts.
