GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • U.P. Representatives Dave Prestin and Karl Bohnak introduced two bills that would let natural gas RICE generators continue running—meant to protect Yoopers from higher energy costs despite a 2023 law requiring a phase-out by 2040. The House Energy Committee will vote on the proposals Tuesday—and if approved, they will move through both chambers before reaching Governor Whitmer’s desk.  Upper Michigan's Source
