- ➤ Delft Bistro hosted a free community dinner Monday evening for 70 guests in downtown, offering gourmet cuisine & live music while donations supported local food pantries & fostered community unity. WZMQ 19
- ➤ The Salvation Army hosted its Bucket Blitz fundraiser Monday at Incredible Bank in Marquette — a final push for the Christmas red kettle campaign with a $5,000 goal; donations will continue until Christmas Eve online. Upper Michigan's Source
- ➤ The Kiwanis Club of Marquette is taking orders for a free Christmas Eve dinner, which will be delivered Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It offers turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce + pie for over 500 residents in need. Upper Michigan's Source
- ➤ West End Health Foundation has donated $15,000 from its 2025 operating budget to support groups fighting food insecurity this Christmas. - ➤ AAA of Michigan's Tow to Go program will be available free and confidential for both members and non-members from 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24 through 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2 as it picks up impaired drivers within a 10-mile radius of their call. Upper Michigan's Source
- ➤ Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly is preparing Christmas meals for seniors across Calumet, Hancock and Houghton and needs meal delivery drivers for Thursday — the group also asks for cookie drop-offs at its Hancock office by noon today to create a festive sit-down dinner atmosphere. - ➤ Talon Metals will acquire Eagle Mine and the Humboldt Mill from Lundin Mining in exchange for 275.2 million shares, with operations moving under long-time manager Darby Stacey starting Thursday, Dec. 25. - ➤ The Michigan Home Energy Rebates program report released Monday shows that more than 11,000 households saved money as EGLE helped residents access up to $34,000 in no-cost upgrades. Homeowners and renters can apply on the website and get in touch with local contractors for help. Upper Michigan's Source
- ➤ Congress passed the Great Lakes Fishery Research Reauthorization Act to extend funding for the US Geological Survey’s Great Lakes Science Center for another five years. Senator Gary Peters said the bill will boost research on fish populations and invasive species to protect our lakes. WZMQ 19

- ➤ Michigan State Police troopers traveled from the UP to Ann Arbor on Dec. 13 to deliver holiday cheer to 2-year-old Vialah White, fighting high-risk neuroblastoma at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. - ➤ Up North Lodge is accepting reservations for 30-45 minute sleigh rides through March at its winter wonderland, with rides costing $15 per adult and $10 per child. Families can pet horses and take photos after the ride. Upper Michigan's Source
