The Mining Journal accepts donations for its annual Cheer Club to provide a record number of presents for children and teens in need.
Donations can be dropped off at its office at 249 W. Washington St. Monday through Friday (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Superior Connections Recovery Community Organization held its 3rd annual Connections Through Bowling event on Sunday evening in Marquette Township, offering free bowling funded by the Superior Health Foundation as a substance-free space that helped people in recovery build community and feel less isolated.

The Marquette Symphony Orchestra held its 'Sounds of the Holiday' concert at Kaufman Auditorium on Sunday, engaging the audience in classic carols and festive sing-alongs.
Music director Octavio Más-Arocas said the event linked community members with live symphony performances.
