COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Due to recent snowfall delaying construction at Tourist Park day use area, the off-leash dog park at Tourist Park Campground remains closed until Wednesday, Nov. 26 + the Power Mill Road entrance off Sugarloaf Avenue is also closed to protect visitors and dogs. The park season will be extended through May 15 to make up for the delay. The Mining Journal

- ➤ Peter White Public Library now offers new cookbooks for holiday cooking — including Lidia’s The Art of Pasta, Measure With Your Heart and Dorie’s Anytime Cakes — so families can explore easy recipes and new flavors for festive meals. The Mining Journal
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ New research in Isle Royale National Park found that wolves shift their hunt from moose to beavers during different seasons—using GPS trackers and data on beaver lodges to show this change. The study shows beaver lodges dropped from about 400 to 100, which may affect the park's ecosystem. The Mining Journal
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On November 7, Marquette County housing officials and groups received two Home Builders Association awards for the Housing Now initiative and for emerging advocate Antonio Adan. The coalition — led by a 27-member council — has advanced local housing with more than 500 units planned as it continues to support developers and community growth. The Mining Journal
