- ➤ Over the weekend and Monday, up to 18 inches of lake-effect snow fell in parts of the central UP, prompting the Marquette County Road Commission and sheriff’s office to urge drivers to slow down and give snowplows 200 feet of space—19 seasonal hires were put on duty to clear the roads.
