Superior Health Foundation announced a $65,000 allocation to help food pantries in the U.P. as delayed SNAP benefits pushed more working families to seek aid — local groups have reported rising need.

Sixty thousand dollars will go directly to pantries and five thousand dollars supports a TV6 Can-a-thon match — funds that will be quickly distributed to meet community needs.

Marquette — The Northern Michigan Wildcats hockey team lost two games to Michigan Tech with scores of 4-1 and 4-2, leaving them winless at 0-12 this season.
