- ➤ Skandia Township residents gathered Saturday to celebrate Alice Anderson’s 100th birthday—Anderson, a local historian who turned 100 on November 6th, said her secret to staying young is keeping things in moderation. Upper Michigan's Source
- ➤ Marquette County SNAP recipients can get free McChicken Meal Deals tomorrow, November 10th, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all McDonald’s locations, with each meal including a McChicken, four-piece chicken nuggets, a small fry and a soft drink & proof of SNAP eligibility required. - ➤ The second annual Westend Craft Show took place Saturday at Aspen Ridge Middle School in Marquette County’s west end, drawing 75 vendors and about 500 holiday shoppers who explored crafts, ornaments, baked goods and gifts + organizers also collected canned goods for a community drive. - ➤ On Saturday, shoppers visited the 19th annual Keweenaw Art Affair in Houghton where vendor Kim Hunter-Schaedle said the handmade crafts revived her passion for art—she now takes up knitting again. She moved from the East Coast and is excited to attend more holiday art fairs in the region. Upper Michigan's Source

- ➤ At a meet in Marquette, the Wayne State Warriors beat the NMU men’s swim and dive team 163-137—claiming 22 podium finishes with key wins by Andrew Tease. NMU swimmers earned several medals and placed strongly in many events as the competition advanced. WZMQ 19
- ➤ Michigan Tech's football team lost 18-15 at Lubbers Stadium as they failed to produce the extra plays needed after outscoring Grand Valley 8-3 in the fourth quarter — the head coach said his players fought hard but fell short. The Huskies will end their season at home next Saturday against Saginaw Valley State on Senior Day. WZMQ 19
- ➤ NMU Greco-Roman wrestlers competed in the Bill Farrell Memorial International in New York, where Kenneth Crosby and Amryn Nutter each won gold by tech fall—marking the first time since 2018 that two NMU wrestlers earned gold at the event. WZMQ 19
- ➤ The NMU volleyball team defeated Davenport in four sets at Vandament Arena on Saturday—junior libero Liesl Haugen tied a school record with 38 digs. The win brought the Wildcats to a 13-13 season mark—and they will host Lake Superior State and Saginaw Valley State on November 14-15. WZMQ 19
- ➤ NMU Women’s Cross Country finished fourth at the NCAA Division II Regional Championships in Kenosha, led by All-Region honorees Madi Szymanski and Ashley Choponis— the Wildcats now wait to secure an at-large bid for nationals. They hope to earn one of eight bids when the national field is announced tomorrow at 5 p.m. ET. WZMQ 19
- ➤ NMU football won a four-overtime game against Davenport with a score of 47+45 as redshirt freshman Noah Dobert rushed 243 yards, scored four touchdowns and secured the win with a two-point conversion under interim coach Billy Lindquist. The win snapped a six-game skid+ tied the record for the longest game in NMU history. WZMQ 19
- ➤ The NMU women’s swim & dive team dominated the meet today vs Wayne State by winning 37 of 48 podium finishes in 16 events. Top swimmer Anika Wright led NMU to multiple wins & strong relay performances. WZMQ 19
- ➤ Winter sports lovers gathered at Lakeview Arena for the annual swap that has been held for over 30 years—during the event the Marquette Mountain Racing Team kept 25% of the proceeds while sellers took back 75% of their unsold gear. Swap coordinator Brandon Croney of The Compound Ski and Board Shop said about 300 people attended the event. Upper Michigan's Source
