The TV6 Canathon kicked off on November 3rd in Marquette to help feed hungry neighbors by collecting food donations & monetary gifts at many local sites.

Tony Stagliano said donated food will go to food banks and other agencies in Upper Michigan.

AAA and the DNR advise drivers to slow down in wooded areas as deer activity rises this fall due to mating and firearm season — over 58,000 vehicle-deer crashes occurred statewide last year.

Drivers should use high beams when safe and avoid swerving to reduce collision risks.

The Lake Superior Community Partnership will host its second annual Marquette County Small Business Celebration on November 6 at the Mather in Ishpeming to honor local small businesses such as Queen City Running Company, West End Gymnastics, AV Rental Company, and The Lumberjack Tavern. LSCP Director Ashley Szczepanski said a Special Small Business Champion award—set for Alexander Kofsky—will be presented and that Business After Hours and a Breakfast and Business event will follow soon.

Michigan drivers are getting a break from recent gas price jumps as the state average fell 11 cents from last week to $2.97 per gallon for regular unleaded — 21 cents lower than last year, with Iron County at $2.83 and Mackinac County at $3.38 and prices now below the national average, according to AAA of Michigan.
