- ➤ On Friday, Huron Mountain Bakery partnered with the Women’s Center in Marquette and Ishpeming to raise awareness for domestic violence prevention during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The bakery donated 10% of its donut sales while Women’s Center representatives shared resources with customers—business was strong all day, according to general manager Kevin Johnston. - ➤ Project Keep Kids Warm completed its 16th year of helping children by providing winter clothes, and over 385 kids in Marquette County received coats, boots, and gloves during winter 2024–2025 — community members praised the program for ensuring safe, warm play and school attendance. - ➤ The Women’s Center of Marquette is raising domestic violence awareness for October by placing purple pumpkins at businesses in Marquette and Alger Counties — flyers explain the impact on families and children.
