Today until October 11, the Marquette Maritime Museum runs ghost tours that leave every 10 minutes from the museum parking lot and travel around Lighthouse Park to the historic lighthouse built in 1866 — the tours feature characters from Marquette’s maritime past and benefit the museum and NMU Food Bank. The ghost tours offer a kid-friendly session from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. and sessions for ages 12 and over from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.

On Wednesday evening, Negaunee residents learned how to create a family tree at the Negaunee Public Library when volunteers from the Marquette County Genealogical Society showed them where to find records like birth certificates and census documents.

The Marquette County Board approved a Brownfield Plan Tuesday for a new housing project on a vacant 5.3-acre lot at 170 County Rd. 492 in Marquette Township.
