On Saturday, fire and rescue departments from across the county joined forces to hold Fire Prevention Week at Harlow Park, where they taught safe ways to dispose of lithium-ion batteries and reminded families to check smoke alarms.
The parade ended on Washington Street—firefighters urged everyone to practice home escape plans.
🎭 Culture
At the Marquette Regional History Center, the fourth biennial Lake Superior Fiber Festival gathered local weavers, knitters, and quilters on Saturday—creatives showcased quilts, shawls, and stuffed animals, and the event awarded 44 raffle prizes.
Executive Director Cris Osier said the festival is meant to inspire interest in local fiber guilds.
Marquette Fringe held its fourth annual Fall Phantasm at Lakenenland on Saturday where over 2,000 residents enjoyed live music and original art.
The event featured the Chrysalis theme—an inspiring break from everyday stress for community members.

Palosaari Farm in Chassell is open every Saturday and Sunday until October 26th—families can enjoy a corn maze, a corn pit, pedal karts and jumping on hay bales.
The farm's hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays with admission at $10 per person and free entry for kids under three.
