- ➤ The First Presbyterian Church of Marquette will host its Fall Bazaar and Luncheon on Saturday Oct. 25 with the bazaar running from 9 a.m.—2 p.m. and a donation luncheon from 11 a.m.—1 p.m.—organizers are seeking crafters to rent a 6-foot table for $15 with chairs included. The Mining Journal
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ From 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, a members-only class for participants aged 12 and up will be held at MooseWood in Marquette where they will hand-build pottery mugs in a first session and glaze them in a second. The $20 fee covers all materials — no prior experience is needed. The Mining Journal
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Sunday, NMU held the Dead River Games at Clark Lambros Park where students played ice cream drop games, ran relay races, and rented paddleboards for free — the event started homecoming week and brought teammates closer. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ B. Keith English, MD will speak at Northern Michigan University’s Jamrich Hall, Room 1100—discussing the efficacy of the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine. The event will run from 7-8 p.m. Thursday—offering guidance on recognizing measles infections and their complications. The Mining Journal
- ➤ The Marquette Seventh-day Adventist’s Dinner with the Doctor program will host clinical psychologist K’dee Crews for a three-day event—Finding Freedom from Trauma and Addiction—at 270 E. U.S. 41 with sessions on Friday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 4 at 11:30 a.m. and Sunday, Oct. 5 at 4 p.m.; a complimentary dinner on Sunday will be offered with limited seating available.
