The 36th annual Negaunee Labor Day Festival took place Monday morning and drew a strong turnout — union groups including the Marquette-Alger Community Labor Council and U.P.

Regional Labor Federation held a rally at Jackson Mine Park with live music by Sky Pilots, food, refreshments and a beer tent.

Northern Michigan University students celebrated Labor Day with their 25th annual kickball tournament—held at the Wright Street fields—where players from residence halls and apartments competed in a bracket-style, single-elimination event for a trophy.
