United Way of Marquette County will host its third annual Hockey Night on September 13th where hockey fans 18 and up can raise funds to join Detroit Red Wings Alumni on the ice—top two fundraisers will get a chance to play—and all proceeds will support local youth, senior, disability, food and housing programs.

With Northern Michigan University back in session, Marquette businesses are expecting more traffic as Trenary Toast Cafe sees increased student and family visits while Iron Bay Restaurant experiences a seasonal drop in business—business owners plan events to attract more customers. Local operators say they will adjust promotions to support and adapt to changing conditions.

On Saturday, Aug. 30, Geoff and Jon's Record Show will take place at Blackrocks Brewery during the Endless Summer Festival in Marquette.
