Six new family medicine residents began a month-long orientation at UP Health System Marquette Family Medicine Residency Program, and program director Suzanne Clarke said they will train to become dedicated doctors (over three years) to serve our community.

Educators in Baraga attended the 4th Annual Wiikwedong Culture Camp Tuesday where they learned to share Ojibwe traditions with students using food and language lessons—60 early learning practitioners from five tribal programs joined the two-day event.

Teacher Melissa Paulson said the camp helps revive local traditions and the Ojibwe language essential to the community.

At NMU's Fall Convocation, officials said that Harden Hall will be remodeled for the winter term, the library will gain a grand staircase, and the biology department is getting upgraded with new labs and offices.
