- ➤ Gasoline prices in Michigan fell by 11.9 cents to $3.09 per gallon this week from a survey of 4,913 stations and are 6.3 cents lower than last month and 34.5 cents lower than a year ago (national diesel prices dropped 1.9 cents to $3.671 per gallon). The Mining Journal

- ➤ Lieutenant Governor Garland Gilchrist and MDARD Director Tim Boring announced millions in grant funding at the Upper Peninsula State Fair in Escanaba to support local businesses and communities. The funds will pay for water and sewer upgrades in Ishpeming, Negaunee and Ely township — and for additional projects in Ishpeming, Escanaba, Iron River and Marquette. WZMQ 19
