The Business After Hours event will be held Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 4:00 p.m. at Exalta & NMU Fall Fest will be on Monday, Aug. 24 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the NMU Lawn.

Local farm bureaus nominated outstanding women for the U.P.

Farm Women’s Hall of Fame exhibit — housed inside the Miracle of Life building at the U.P. State Fair — where visitors can explore the vital roles played by female farmers; the display runs all week.

Sixty-three teens learned crash avoidance skills when they drove MSP patrol vehicles on Aug.

15 in Brimley and Aug. 16 in Gladstone. The program received positive feedback and will add more training sessions next year (with local partners like Gladstone High School).

Before school starts, students attend a week-long art and history camp hosted by Liberty Children’s Art Project at the Marquette Regional History Center.

They work with paint, clay sculpture and drawing to explore identity and learn about the America 250 exhibit until Friday.

County Road CH will close from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today for a culvert installation on a one-mile stretch west of Lawer Drive, according to the Marquette County Road Commission.
