Silver Creek Church in Harvey marked 20 years of back-to-school giving this morning with its annual backpack SOS Drive, where hundreds of families received backpacks, school supplies, hygiene kits, and vouchers along with beverages and snacks from community partners.
Emergency personnel including police & firefighters raced go-karts at the Battle of the Badges held Saturday at the Marquette County Fairgrounds to raise food donations for local pantries.

A beloved nonprofit held its grand re-opening for the Art Drop Shop (129 West Baraga Avenue) downtown today; owners Joel and Katie Siegel plan to host workshops and expand partnerships to provide affordable art supplies for everyone.
