Seventeen volunteer fire departments competed in the 131st Annual UP Volunteer Firefighters Tournament in Gaastra last Saturday, testing skills in five games like ladder climb + hose launch.
Hosted by Caspian Gaastra Fire Department, the tournament celebrated teamwork and urged locals to volunteer.
🏈 Sports
The Negaunee Junior Diamonds captured the American Legion baseball state championship after sweeping the Kingsford Junior Greens in a two-game series, ending their season at 20-6 in the revived program's first year.
MTU football coach Dan Mettlach welcomed Bryan Parker to return as the wide receivers coach on July 1, bringing experience from four Division I programs & earlier coaching roles, which is expected to boost the Huskies' performance.
