- ➤ Team Wireless will hold its 7th annual Backpack 4 Kids event on Saturday at 9 a.m. at all its locations, where every child who visits will receive a free backpack filled with school supplies including a notebook, pencils, and crayons—nearly 3,000 backpacks and about $120,000 in supplies will be given away. - ➤ Marquette residents supported a local nonprofit last Thursday by touring seven beautiful gardens during the 31st annual Garden Tour hosted by the Marquette Beautification and Restoration Committee—participants also enjoyed refreshments at Blackrocks Brewery and asked gardeners for tips on plant care. - ➤ This weekend, swimmers will participate in the 22nd Annual Swim Teal Lake event on Saturday to raise money for Camp UPeninsulin, a camp for kids with Type 1 diabetes. - ➤ Art on the Rocks returns to Marquette's Mattson Lower Harbor Park this weekend for its 65th year, with free admission and work from over 100 local and national artists.
