- ➤ The Marquette Maritime Museum is hosting its family friendly Annual Lake Superior Day on Sunday, July 20, from 1 to 4 p.m. in its parking lot, where a compost demonstration by Partridge Creek Farm and a display on invasive species by Great Lakes Fisheries will show how to protect the lake—inviting local community members to get involved. - ➤ Marquette’s Mariucci Family Beacon House received a $7K donation from the Manistique Women’s Club after its May 'Purses with a Purpose' event helped 500 Schoolcraft County families—club co-chair Julie Barr said a club member who stayed at the house inspired the fundraiser. - ➤ Marquette-based Kall Morris Inc. successfully tested its space technology on the International Space Station— a mechanical system that grabs objects without a docking port to help service satellites. The full prototype with eight arms is expected to be ready for commercial use by the end of 2027 and is supported by partnerships with the US Space Force and US Air Force. Upper Michigan's Source
