  • Marquette and the Superior Watershed Partnership replaced the weathered stairs leading to Presque Isle's breakwall with help from the city and Great Lake Climate Corps crews. CULTURE NEWS

  • Today is the final day to buy discounted advanced tickets for the Hiawatha Music Festival weekend where adults pay $125, teens and seniors pay $100, and children ages 6 to 12 pay $10 while kids under five are free—tickets at the gate are $150. The Pre-Fest Concert featuring Youngman and Oldmen runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ore Dock Brewing Company as the last chance for advanced pricing.  Upper Michigan's Source
  • This summer, Black Moon Clay joined the Wednesday Night Farmers Market on West Washington Street as longtime ceramicists Mike Shelafoe and Annika began selling handcrafted miniature ceramics and earrings from their home studio — adding a personal art touch to the event.  WZMQ 19
  • The Lake Superior Theatre opens its 2025 season today with the musical Mama Mia—directed by Eliisa Gladwell, choreographed by Maureen McFadden, and featuring music direction by Caitlin Palomaki.   • The North Coast Dance Festival is returning later this month at the Forest Roberts Theatre at NMU (its fourth year) and will run from July 23 to 25 with a master class on July 23 by Nan Giordano and performances on July 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m.  Sunny 101.9
  • The Marquette Symphony Orchestra is hosting its free Summer POPS! concert today at 7:30 p.m. at Marquette Commons with a 'Wild, Wild West' theme—music from 60's western films and patriotic tunes will play as the orchestra brings the community together.  WZMQ 19

  • Yesterday, Anna Howes from Active Physical Therapy in Marquette explained that men facing pelvic pain, testicular pain, groin pain, and urinary issues can benefit from specialized physical therapy (which offers targeted techniques to ease these symptoms), stressing there are treatment options available for those in need.  Sunny 101.9
