- ➤ The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter is accepting pet pictures with a $10 donation for its 2026 calendar contest through July 31+ any picture that gets at least five votes is guaranteed a spot. Voting will run from August 1 to August 31 at $1 per vote, and the top-voted image wins the cover while monthly top categories, a random drawing for pets with 100 votes, and a reserved date to honor a pet for $10 add extra prizes.
