Planning is underway for Freedom Fest hosted by the Marquette County Exchange Club, which will run Thursday, July 2 through Saturday, July 4 at Mattson Lower Harbor Park.

The festival will feature food vendors and bands — volunteers are welcome to help.

Marquette Harbor Rotary will host its 30-year Fish Boil dinner & auction from 5-10 p.m. Saturday, June 20 at Lake Superior Theatre Yacht Yard, raising funds for local youth and community projects.

The annual fundraiser has contributed more than $500,000 over the years.

Downtown Marquette hosted its second mid-week farmers market Wednesday evening with over 40 vendors including Barn Cat Collective — known for handmade art, ceramics, and cat toys.

The market runs from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. every week until August 26 and welcomed crowds despite rain.
