Tree House Family Resources in Houghton launches free support groups for pregnant and postpartum families.

The organization will hold a fourth-trimester session today from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. plus a pop-up parenting event on June 23 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at its headquarters.

MoxieMoms held its second Planting Hope event at the Memorial Garden on the corner of Fifth and Spring to honor babies lost during pregnancy.

The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter soft opened its services on Tuesday, June 16 after an isolated canine-parvo case, allowing cats and small critters while staff sanitized the facility.
