Partridge Creek Farm invites community volunteers to upgrade the Ishpeming Middle School Garden at 402 Cleveland Ave from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 20, where helpers will weed, maintain, and build new garden beds for free produce and support school programs (volunteers under 16 must be with an adult).
Today, the Marquette Kiwanis Club served about 1,500 hot chicken dinners at Lakeview Arena as part of its 69th annual fundraiser — which raises $11,000 to $13,000 for local nonprofits — and fans lined up early to support community service.
The Marquette Junior Yacht Club will host a marine sale fundraiser on Saturday, June 20 at the Marquette Yacht Club from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to raise funds for new sailing equipment, with drop-offs beginning at 8 a.m.
At 7 p.m. Thursday, June 18, a benefit concert will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church (305 West Magnetic St) to bless a thousand northern white cedar trees planned for planting in Yellow Dog Community Forest, featuring local musician Michael Waite with donations welcomed.

Today, Negaunee Middle School released its 4th marking period honor roll to recognize 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students who earned all As (and some received Bs) this term.

Berkli Asgaard from Ishpeming graduated from Marquette University in May, earning a Master of Science in speech language pathology during the 145th Commencement at Fiserv Forum plus a campus mass celebrated the achievement of 3,166 graduates.
