Lakeview Arena will host the Kiwanis Chicken Barbeque from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow.

The arena’s back (north) parking lot will serve as a pick-up lane for orders, with vehicles entering from the west (Pine Street) entrance and exiting on the east.

Eighteen top ironworker apprentices from across the Midwest gathered in Marquette on Thursday and Friday at the union's facility (built in 2023) for the Regional Local 8 Apprenticeship Competition; the top three winners will advance to an international contest in Washington, D.C. this fall.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services released the 2026 Eat Safe Fish Guides to help local residents choose safe, locally caught fish based on lab tests from 696 waterbodies.

The guides offer advice for families (including children and pregnant women) and are free resources.
