The Gwinn Lions Club’s annual Gwinn Fun Daze is set for June 21—where funds raised from a $25 registration fee will support children with cancer—and will feature a 5K race at 8 a.m. at Gilbert Elementary School, a garden-themed parade at 10 a.m., an antique motor vehicle show across the river, live music, games, a cornhole tournament, a youth soccer camp and duck races for a full day of family fun.

The David — Thu Brulé YMCA of Marquette County raised nearly $4.5 million for its new Multi-Purpose Field House and is asking for an extra $500,000 to support facility repairs, a Scholarship Fund, and added amenities.

The DNR presented preliminary 2024 deer season estimates at a Thursday morning Natural Resource Commission meeting showing a 21% increase in UP deer harvest numbers from 2023.
