Yesterday, more than 40 vendors gathered on Washington Street for the first Wednesday Night Farmers Market of the season, drawing around 2,000 shoppers with fresh produce, crafts and baked goods.

The market will run every Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. until Aug. 27—Washington Street is closed from 3-9 p.m. on market nights—while local shops and eateries remain open.

The David & Thu Brulé YMCA of Marquette County will offer free meals to kids and teens as part of the USDA Summer Nutrition Program starting Tuesday, June 24 until Aug.
