- ➤ Marquette’s Wednesday Night Farmers Market returns this week with about 60 vendors selling fresh produce, crafts, and baked goods on the 100 block of Washington St from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; the street closes at 2:30 p.m. for vendor setup while sidewalks and businesses remain open for shopping+dining. - ➤ The David & Thu Brulé YMCA of Marquette County will start summer programming on June 16 with a swim camp for level one and two swimmers, a basketball camp and Mix-It-Up Sports for children — men’s pickup basketball for adults will run from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. - ➤ This weekend, car lovers will gather in the Westwood Mall parking lot for a pre-Father’s Day car show, where registration between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Saturday requires donating five nonperishable food items. - ➤ During this Father’s Day weekend, The Sisters Rodeo Co. will present the 2025 Great Lakes Rodeo at 150 W Johnson Lake Rd in Gwinn with a competition starting Friday at 12 p.m. and a main performance at 6 p.m. Events on Saturday will include a parade at 10 a.m.—with a vote for a new rodeo queen and court—and an evening performance at 6 p.m. with a 9 p.m. afterparty. - ➤ Marquette-Alger RESA joined a national effort — through the Google GSV Education Innovation Fellowship — to help shape future education policy and curriculum decision-making, Dr. Greg Nyen said on June 10.
