- ➤ Higher Love Cannabis Company is hosting its 3rd Annual Summer Jubilee, a free three-day music festival from July 11 to 13 at the Pine Grove Bar in Republic for adults 21 and older. - ➤ State forecasters say that Canadian wildfire smoke affecting northern Michigan will lift this weekend, with Friday expected to be the last day of air quality advisories. - ➤ City Manager Karen Kovacs announced changes to the city's garbage pick up schedule as Waste Management will switch from overnight to morning and daytime hours starting this week in Marquette. - ➤ U.S. Senators Gary Peters and Jerry Moran introduced the bipartisan FORECAST Act to protect full-time National Weather Service forecasting in the Upper Peninsula+ ensuring that essential meteorologists, hydrologists and field technicians remain active despite hiring freezes. The bill will reinstate any key job offers that were rescinded on or after January 20+ and require a report from the Secretary of Commerce in one year. Upper Michigan's Source
