The Marquette Kiwanis Club will host its 68th annual Chicken Barbecue at Lakeview Arena on Sunday, June 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.—serving half-chicken meals with baked potatoes, rolls, milk and ice cream to raise money for local community projects.
Tickets cost $18 and can be bought online or at the event.
The 7th Annual Marquette County Community Resource Fair will be held on Thursday, June 26th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Lakeview Arena in Marquette—free to all and featuring nearly 70 community organizations offering health screenings, food, housing, utility support, veteran assistance, vaccinations and women’s resources.

A recent ALICE report shows that 41% of Marquette households are above the poverty line while still struggling to afford necessities — officials say the cost of living is growing faster than wages.

Harbor Light Early Education has opened enrollment in Marquette for an at-home preschool serving children ages 2 to 6.
