A groundbreaking ceremony was held Monday in Marquette for a new Presque Isle Bandshell that will serve as the home of The Marquette Band.

The project, supported by a donation from the Ray and Peg Hirvonen Foundation, will replace a venue built in the 1930s as the old band shell is set for demolition early this week.
