- ➤ Chaplain Keitha Callanan swore in Jackie Huntoon as the new member of Marquette’s 60-member Onagomingkway chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, which serves veterans and preserves local history with educational opportunities. - ➤ Redeemer Lutheran church at 1700 W. Fair Ave. in Marquette is holding a rummage and bake sale on Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to fund mission teams serving people in Honduras as well as teams in Detroit and Flint. The Mining Journal

- ➤ Marquette Maritime Museum offers free summer admission for active U.S. military and up to five family members through the Blue Star Museums program. The program runs from May 16 until Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7, and requires approved military IDs (CAC, DD forms or Real ID) for entry. The Mining Journal
- ➤ Fancy-Free and Studio Marie hosted a stress-free art workshop on Sunday in Marquette that encouraged local creatives to break from perfection (War on Perfectionism); participants painted canvases with florals and quotes while the organizers plan more sessions. Upper Michigan's Source

- ➤ The U.S. Forest Service announced an extra recreation fee-free day on June 6 to celebrate National Trails Day by offering free public access to national forests and grasslands, inviting locals to join trail stewardship activities nearby. The Mining Journal

- ➤ Libbie Doney hit a home run out of the park to lead Dave’s Collision-Jack’s to a 27-2 win over Tino’s in a Class A game in Ishpeming on Wednesday — other league matchups showed strong batting performances in high-scoring wins. The Mining Journal
- ➤ Marquette's Sentinels defended their Division 1 title at the MHSAA Upper Peninsula Finals in Kingsford on Saturday with 117 points, outscoring Sault Ste. Marie and Houghton. Ford Richardson won the 300-meter hurdles and 400 dash, adding key wins for his team. The Mining Journal
