The Spring Thaw Comedy Show was held on May 2 to raise funds for the annual Stand U.P.

Comedy Festival, and organizers Rick Rhoades and Vincent Schultz arranged the event at Ore Dock Brewing Co. on West Spring Street in Marquette, where doors opened at 7:00 p.m., the show ran from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., and tickets cost $18 for audiences 18 and over.

The NMU board appointed longtime employee and alumnus Gavin Leach as interim president—he served as vice president for Finance and Administration for 18 years—after President Brock Tessman announced his departure in July.
