On Saturday, downtown Marquette hosted a busy Independent Bookstore Day with many book lovers visiting local shops.
Lauren Kwarciany drove from Escanaba to visit Read My Lips and said small stores create a special reading space—where shoppers stamped passports and could join a raffle—while offering a mix of genres.
🎓 Education
Michigan Tech held its Spring Commencement over the weekend at MacInnes Student Ice Arena, where more than 1,240 graduates received their diplomas.
Speakers included Olympian Deedra Irwin, master’s student Tabasum Hambard and undergraduate Mary Stevens — a proud parent celebrated watching their second child graduate.
