- ➤ Marquette Senior High School’s Outdoor Recreation Club cleaned up Mattson Lower Harbor Park on Monday even though it rained. Co-presidents Nolan Dixon and Liam Thompson said they were proud to support a long-running beautification effort that brings students and locals together—helping care for downtown and its lakeshore. - ➤ On Saturday, April 26, Marquette Farmers Market will hold a preview market at Marquette Commons (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) where new and existing vendors can sell items and visitors can secure a membership with a $100 donation (only 100 memberships are available for 2025). WZMQ 19
- ➤ Marquette Parks and Recreation Advisory Board asked residents to donate school yearbooks, restaurant menus, grocery receipts or other items that capture life in Marquette in 2025 for a time capsule to be opened in 2050. - ➤ The United Way provided free tax preparation services to about 140 low to moderate-income individuals and families in Marquette County through its VITA program, which ended on April 15. - ➤ Snowbound Books in Marquette is hosting a book spirit week that began Monday, April 21 and continues with themed discount days offering 10% off select books and merchandise. - ➤ Queen City Running Company is expanding its shoe drive to the NMU campus during Anderton’s Earth Week by placing donation boxes at the Superior Dome, the NMU PEIF, and its Marquette location until Sunday, April 27th. - ➤ Marquette County has opened a one-time reimbursement grant for child care providers, offering about $23,000 with awards capped at $5,000.
