- ➤ U.P. Pink Power board members Carrie Miller and Erin Sorenson announced on April 16 that the organization will host its annual 17 mile Fundraising Walk on Saturday, April 26 at 10:00 a.m. starting at Knotty Pine in Arnold—later finishing with a celebration at Up North Lodge where funds raised will help local families in need. - ➤ On Saturday from noon to 3:00 p.m. at Barrel + Beam in Marquette Township, Taylor and Kaylee Birmann are hosting an Easter celebration with an egg hunt, Easter-themed crafts, a silent auction, and a special appearance by the Easter Bunny to raise funds for the Upper Peninsula Hospice Foundation. - ➤ Yesterday, the Marquette Breakfast Rotary Club and the Marquette West Rotary Club merged to form the Marquette Harbor Rotary Club—now led by co-presidents Andrew LaCombe and Fran Finley. They said the union will help combine members and strengthen their efforts, while planned events will continue as scheduled. WZMQ 19
- ➤ Marquette Rotary Club is seeking more Feeding America volunteers to run its mobile food pantries outside the Berry Events Center each month — the work takes three hours to feed neighbors in need. - ➤ Two Marquette Rotary Clubs merged to form the Marquette Harbor Rotary Club with a ribbon cutting ceremony organized by the Lake Superior Community Partnership yesterday—combining efforts in local service projects, grants, scholarships, and international clean water support.
