- ➤ Lily Dixon, a Marquette Senior High graduate studying at Michigan State, is a finalist for the Truman Scholarship — a national award offering $30,000 for graduate studies — and she will learn the results later this month. The Mining Journal

- ➤ Citizens for a Safe & Clean Lake Superior expanded its Wetland Protection Cash Incentive program by offering $1,500 per easement to eligible landowners in Marquette County today.
