- ➤ Jean Lund Ayotte Baggiore was born on March 26 in Gwinn and is now 100 years old. As a young woman she moved to Detroit to work at a World War II plant and built a close circle of family and friends while staying active with a positive outlook and a little wine every day. The Mining Journal

- ➤ The first Geoff and Jon Record Show of the year ended Sunday at the Ore Docks Brewing Co. in Marquette and drew record lovers from Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota—organizers Geoff Walker and Jon Teichman said the event set a strong tone for the year and that four more shows are planned with the next in May. - ➤ Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport has completed an expansion that created a redesigned waiting area with 65 new seats by relocating the security checkpoint to ease overcrowding from overlapping departures. The Lake Superior Community Partnership and the Marquette County Board celebrated the project with a ribbon cutting, and airport officials said the $400,000 initiative improves passenger convenience.
