Snowbound Books held its first fantasy-themed Books and Brews fair Sunday at Ore Dock Brewing Company in Marquette—selecting the theme to offer a wider book selection for local readers.

The event ran from 2 to 6 p.m., provided a 10% discount on books and $1 off drinks, and ended with a costume contest and fantasy trivia.

The Knockabouts played jigs and songs on Sunday at Marquette Hope Church to welcome spring — band member Tim DeMarte said the group ended their performance with Wild Mountain Time to share a boost of seasonal cheer.

Binary Crows robotics team—composed of Marquette Senior High students, local 8th graders and homeschoolers—prepares for one more contest before the state competition at Saginaw Valley State University in two weeks.

12th grade student David Birkmaier said the team built its skills through trial and error while 11th grader Boyne Gregg explained that the name symbolizes the group's growth.
