- ➤ UPAWS extended its St. Catty’s Day cat adoption event from Wednesday until Sunday as its staff cared for shelter animals during the blizzard (in Sands Township) with walks and medicine. Upper Michigan's Source

- ➤ Tweet Garot Mechanical, a Wisconsin-based mechanical contractor, acquired Prime Specialty Contracting for its Marquette and Escanaba offices in February (facilities remain open and founder Cory Bushong will continue to lead about 90 employees). Upper Michigan's Source
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Emergency agencies are busy with storm recovery after heavy snowfall fell earlier this week. County officials advise residents to clear roofs and stay off blocked roads while they monitor potential flooding and work to restore access to Sawyer Regional Airport. Upper Michigan's Source
- ➤ Governor Whitmer declared a state of emergency on Tuesday for Delta County plus several northern counties after a historic blizzard left dangerous roads, power outages and school closures. - ➤ NMU men’s basketball pulled off a last-minute 10-2 run to edge Rockhurst 86-85 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, with Dylan Kuehl scoring 31 points (the Wildcats advanced in North Canton). WZMQ 19
- ➤ NMU head men's basketball coach Matt Majkrzak resigned Tuesday morning to take over Division I duties at Northern Illinois (after seven seasons with a 136-73 record and four GLIAC championships). He thanked the community and promised to carry forward his legacy of winning. The Mining Journal
