- ➤ Silver Creek Church and Silver Creek Thrift will partner with Feeding America West Michigan to host a Mobile Food Pantry drive-through event in Harvey on Thursday, Mar. 12 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. about 550 families will be able to pick up food while supplies last (proxy pickups will be limited). - ➤ The annual Free Community Easter Dinner is set for Easter Sunday at Ishpeming Elks Lodge from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m., offering dine-in, take-out, and a new delivery option. Volunteers are needed for delivery and reservations must be made by Friday, April 3 at 3:00 p.m. by calling (906) 451-4951. Sunny 101.9
- ➤ The 2026 HBAUP Builders Show runs at NMU’s Superior Dome from Friday to Sunday, featuring vendor booths, raffles, demos, and a beer garden. - ➤ Peace Pie Company and Barrel and Beam will host the 4th annual Celebrity Pie Smash event on Friday, March 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Barrel and Beam, where community members can donate $5 to pie a local celebrity + redirect a pie with all proceeds going to support Six Feet Over's suicide loss services. - ➤ The Friends of the Peter White Public Library support diverse programs, including children's learning kits + book club selections. - ➤ The Fire Station has partnered with Citizens for a Safe & Clean Lake Superior to launch Marquette County’s first cannabis vape recycling program, effective Wednesday, which gives residents safe drop-off sites to properly dispose of hazardous vaping waste & protect local waterways. - ➤ The Fire Station & Citizens for a Safe & Clean Lake Superior set up drop-off boxes at the Peter White Public Library and Superior Watershed Partnership Climate Office for vape waste in Marquette to reduce pollution. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Superior Health Foundation awarded nearly $299K in grants to seven Upper Peninsula agencies, including a $6,900 grant at Lac Vieux Desert Health Center to expand wellness services and $75K at Munising Memorial Hospital for a mobile unit to improve local care — benefiting many residents.
