REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Team Michigan leaders held a snow breaking event downtown at 401 West Washington Street to begin a new mixed-use development that will add 11 residential units, two commercial spaces and indoor parking. The project is backed by a 1.5 million RAP grant to boost local density and support businesses. WZMQ 19
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ NMU’s men’s nordic ski team started strong at the CCSA Championships at Theodore Wirth Park in Minneapolis, as Luke Fricker led his teammates to finish in the top five and top 20. The Wildcats will race again tomorrow at 1:15 p.m. ET. WZMQ 19
- ➤ Volunteer HAM radio operators assisted with safety communications for this weekend’s 228-mile UP200 sled dog race by monitoring 15 rural crossings and relaying updates from Saturday’s Midnight Run finish in Chocolay Township to the logistics center in Marquette. Upper Michigan's Source
- ➤ NMU Wildcats secured an 82-57 win over Purdue Northwest on Valentine’s Day, with Alyssa Hill leading with 19 points and a season-low four turnovers. The team will host Michigan Tech on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 5:30 p.m. for a White Out game + fans are invited to wear white. WZMQ 19
- ➤ The NMU women's nordic ski team delivered top finishes at the CCSA Championships in Minneapolis Sunday. Henriette Nilssen won first among CCSA skiers and Greta Leitheiser came second, and the team will race in the 10k Freestyle Interval Start tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. WZMQ 19
