- ➤ Two competitors took part in the annual Heikki Lunta pasty-eating contest at Upper Peninsula Brewing Company on Super Bowl Sunday. They paid an entry fee for a $20 prize and Negaunee Manager Nate Heffron said the event kept yooper spirit alive — a fun nod to tradition. WZMQ 19
- ➤ The Marquette Elks Lodge donated $1,000 in gas and grocery gift cards to the County Veterans Affairs Department to support local veterans today, with Elks Exalted Ruler Krissy Eaton and Veterans Affairs Benefit Officer Diana Dost present. The Mining Journal

- ➤ Operation Action U.P. is hosting its annual meeting on Feb. 12 at NMU's Northern Center Ballrooms to review 2025 wins and plan for the coming year. - ➤ On Sunday, MooseWood Nature Center hosted a Valentine’s craft workshop in Presque Isle where community members learned to repurpose everyday items into creative Valentines.
