Northern Michigan University volleyball will start its season at home when the Wildcats host the U.P. Open at Vandament Arena from Thurs, Aug. 27 through Sat, Aug. 29, featuring games against Minnesota teams before they head out to an out-of-state tournament in early September.

Lake Superior Community Partnership hosted its 26th Annual Golf Outing today where local groups, including College Hunks and Marquette-Sawyer Regional Airport, met to fundraise and network for regional economic development — CEO Natalie Chmiko noted the event aimed to foster community connections.
Marquette native Zosia Eppensteiner, CEO of the Community Foundation of Marquette County — a local ambassador — has been named by Gov. Whitmer to the Michigan Community Service Commission; her term begins Oct. 2 and runs through Oct. 1, 2029.
